The Market Road

← RETURN

You cannot carry a spreadsheet home in your head. You can carry a road. This is the story BrainTrust Investment Lab is told in — the one that has to survive the drive home.

One road, a car for every company

A company is a real business — people, buildings, trucks, customers. A share is a slice of ownership in it. You are not placing a bet; you are becoming a small owner.

Every company is a car on a long road, always moving. You cannot ride inside it — but the road is lined with signs. Same road for all of them, so you can lay two roads side by side and get an answer instead of an opinion.

The Gold Star

Every car is driving toward the same place: the closing price — the score at the end of every business day. Each day a company adds one more section of its road, trying to reach a higher one.

And the finish line moves. Tomorrow the road is one day longer and the whole trip runs again to a new star. No company arrives. No company graduates. There is only a car, still driving, and a star that has moved again.
